Just published DODECAHEDRA – the preset pack for Korg Wavestation VSTi. 2.5 months in the making resulted in three RAM slots populated in full which amounts to 150 performances, 105 patches, 96 custom wave sequences. I still feel that I’ve only scratched the surface.

The synth does have its limitations, of course. Software removes some brackets of the hardware, yet browsing the waveforms is still somewhat uninspiring process.

On the other hand, Wavestation is the synth for the thoughtful; it has a very decent share of bread-n-butter factory presets, but diving below them may turn up a chore…

…Still, it’s well rewarding once you get something really eerie and cinematic.

Some of the presets I’ve managed to make indeed sound much weirder than I’d expect from Wavestation, especially courtesy of its effects section.

The demo below showcases a few of the separate presets, one at a time; no external effects applied. However, I had to normalize audio and there is some crossfading. Other than that, it’s Korg Wavestation VSTi alone:
